James Sakala, a pastor in Zambia of the Zion Church in Chidiza town, passed away following his burial alive by his adherents. Sakala asserted that, in keeping with Jesus’ resurrection, he would rise again after three days.

Sakala is said to have said to his disciples just before he was buried, “All ye of little faith, bury this Sakala you see now and he shall arise from the dead and breathe his free lungs full again!” His hands were bound, he wore leather slippers, and wore a white gown.
