Double Murder in Saki: Tanker Driver and Pregnant Partner Found Dead; Suspect on the Run

A tragic incident has thrown residents of Saki Road in the High Tension Immigration area of Golf City into mourning after a tanker driver and his pregnant partner were found murdered in their apartment.

The victims, identified as Kwabena, a tanker driver, and his expectant girlfriend, are believed to have been killed on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Their bodies were discovered on Friday, May 1, 2026, after a man went to the house in search of Kwabena and made the shocking discovery of both bodies lying in a pool of blood.

An eyewitness, Romeo, who spoke to Ohemaa Candace of GhsplashNews, said the deceased had only recently developed a friendship with the suspected killer, approximately two weeks prior to the incident. According to him, on the night of the tragedy, Kwabena and the suspect had gone out drinking at a local pub, where the tanker driver became heavily intoxicated.

It is further reported that the suspect later assisted Kwabena back to his third-floor apartment at the Immigration House area, where he lived with his partner. The attack is believed to have taken place shortly after they arrived home.

Investigations indicate that GH¢470,000—proceeds from two tanker fuel sales scheduled for official reporting the following day—was stolen from the residence. The suspect is currently on the run.

The Saki Police Command, together with officials from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), visited the scene to support investigations. The bodies have since been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

In a deeply distressing development, family members revealed that the couple’s three-year-old daughter has not eaten for three days since the incident, as she remains in a state of shock and trauma. Authorities say relatives have since been called to the scene to take custody of the child and other affected family members.

An eight-year-old child, who was reportedly visiting her grandmother at the time of the incident, narrowly escaped the tragedy.

Police say investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect and fully establish the circumstances surrounding the killings.
