Singer Fantana’s Mother Escapes Near-Death Experience in Gory Accident
On August 29, 2024, in the early hours of the morning, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, was involved in a traffic accident at Komenda Junction on the Cape Coast-Accra Highway.
Over the weekend, Affo-Toffey, who is also the mother of singer Fantana, and her group were making their way back from their constituency. Reports state that a truck approaching from behind almost crushed her automobile on that section of the road.
According to the reports, one of the drivers—possibly unconscious—lost control of his truck. In order to prevent a collision, Affo-Toffey’s driver swerved off the road and into the surrounding shrubbery.

On her Facebook page, she announced the accident and thanked God that she was still alive. “I have the utmost gratitude to the Almighty God for saving my life in what could have been a terrible accident.”
The MP was driving a Ford Raptor together with her three companions. They are reported to be in stable condition after being brought to the hospital for medical attention.
