Controversial social media personality Bongo Ideas has sparked controversy by criticizing the King of the Asante Kingdom. He claims that the public doesn’t need to contribute to help the student who was shot in school by a classmate if the Kingdom is as effective as people say. Bongo Ideas shared his opinion on his Facebook page after the news of a student shooting a classmate, causing damage to their eyes.
A statement from the Command reveals that preliminary investigations show a 16-year-old second-year student brought a locally manufactured pistol loaded with one BB ammunition to school. The student allegedly attempted to show the firearm to a classmate but accidentally discharged it, hitting another student. The injured student has been treated at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
After the news became public, many Ghanaians were calling for donations to support the treatment of the student who lost their sight due to the shooting. However, Bongo Ideas criticized this approach and instead suggested that Otumfuo should use his wealth, his gold chains, to help solve the issue rather than just displaying them.
