The head of the Glorious Word Power Ministries, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has levied startling accusations against Dr. Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The contentious godfather has claimed that IGP Dampare was planning to kill him by injection during his detention three years prior.

In a speech to his church, the outspoken pastor shared unsettling details of his run-in with the law and lamented President Akufo-Addo’s failure to hear his side of the story.

Renowned for his ferocious sermons and strong connections to prominent political leaders, Rev. Owusu Bempah asserted that IGP Dampare was directly ordering threats against him.
The preacher claimed that the police who had been dispatched to arrest him had planned to inject him fatally.
The arrest of Rev. Owusu Bempah came after a string of public altercations and legal battles involving the controversial pastor.
However, the specifics of the alleged injection plot were not made public until recently. Rev. Owusu Bempah was furious and said,
“I am very disappointed in the President. He never contacted me to verify what really happened. Instead, he listened to Dampare’s lies.”
Rev. Owusu Bempah’s accusations have reopened questions regarding the police’s handling of him during his arrest as well as the wider implications for human rights in law enforcement.
