CEO of Tobinco Group Of Companies has revealed that he started his business with a capital of one cedi
Samuel Amo Tobbin, the CEO of Tobinco Group Of Companies has narrated how he started his business with just one cedi.
In an interview with Zionfelix he said he was introduced to the pharmacy business by a Muslim man who lived close to the house where he grew up in at Accra New Town.
One day he saw the man with no many bags of Milo, Milk and other stuff in his hands and he prompted his brother that they should go and help the man.
They help him home and they became friends to the extent that they used to his house to sweep and run errands for him.
According to him after completing basic school he sold P.K awaiting his results and he made GH1 and this was in 1984.
One day he informed Alhaji Baba that he’s made one cedi from his PK sales and he’s not sure he would be furthering his education to the secondary school level.
He asked him what he could do with the one cedi and that was when the story of his business started.
Alhaji Baba took the money and gave him medicines for him to sell.
His was trip was traveling to Nsawam to sell but he couldn’t record good sales.

When he returned and complained of poor sales, Alhaji Baba asked him of his hometown and he answered Tarkwa.
Alhaji Baba advised him to go and sell the medicine in Tarkwa and it environs and by the time he returns to Accra he would make good sales.
Tobinco also has praises for brothers of Ernest Bediako Sampong, the CEO of Ernest Chemist.
According to Tobinco he received so much assistance from the brothers of Ernest Chemist who gave him stuff on credit.
Today Tobinco Pharmaceuticals is one of the biggest companies in West Africa.
