Fancy Gadam Vent Anger Over GHAMRO’s ‘Token’ Royalty Payment of GH₵374

After getting a pitiful GH₵374 in royalties from the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Ghanaian rapper Fancy Gadam has expressed his shock and dissatisfaction.

Online reports claim that during an appearance on Power FM in Accra, the “Total Cheat” hitmaker expressed his dissatisfaction and questioned the sincerity of GHAMRO in managing its members’ problems.

Fancy Gadam was clearly distressed, highlighting the precarious position that this small amount signifies for seasoned musicians who rely on these royalties to support themselves. “I think they don’t really care about us because, if they’re willing to pay Fancy Gadam that much, what about the older musicians who are still in the process of making music and are waiting on royalties?” It aches. Are they attempting to convince me that this is what a whole year of me deserves? I’m not sure I get it. I’m hurting right now,” he bemoaned.

He emphasized his important contributions to the music business and mentioned how well-known his songs are, particularly those from his most recent album “Competition.”

One other significant concern raised by Fancy Gadam was the irregularity of the payments. According to reports, he said, “I was at a loss for words.” Simply put, I seem to remember that they sent me GH₵1800 the last time. And I’m not sure why, considering that I even put in more work this year, they’re telling me that all I can earn this year is GH₵350.

Fancy Gadam also questioned GHAMRO’s justification for the meager payout given his considerable out-of-pocket expenses, which include paying VAT for his shows. He expressed concern regarding the precise time frame covered by this most recent disbursement, which made it clear that he was confused about the standards that GHAMRO was using for these payments.
