Eiii Ghana: Asante Kotoko Players Runs Away After Landing In U.S To Play A Match
Two Asante Kotoko players, reportedly of Sudanese nationality, have gone missing in the United States, where the team traveled for a friendly match against DC United.
According to a report on Amazing TV’s YouTube platform, the players disappeared after the team’s arrival in the US. The friendly match was a reward for Asante Kotoko’s victory in Ghana’s Democracy Cup, which they won against Accra Hearts of Ork.
Out of the 27-player squad, only seven players received visas for the trip, leaving the remaining players behind in Ghana. The coaching staff and the seven visa-holding players traveled to the US.
Reports indicate that the two Sudanese players approached team staff, requesting permission to send money to their families in Ghana. However, their request was denied.
Surveillance footage later revealed that a black car picked up the players, who slipped out of their accommodations overnight.
