Charge GH₵2, not GH₵1 – Prophet Opambour backs new energy levy
Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, aka Prophet 1 or Opambour, is stirring up controversy again this time, over fuel and taxes.
In a YouTube video that’s been circulating, the controversial man of God has backed the government’s decision to increase the Energy Sector Levy.
However, he went further to suggest a GH₵2 charge per fuel purchase, instead of the current GH₵1.

“Let’s be realistic,” he said during a conversation with his junior pastor. “GH₵2 will help fix the energy crisis. We need stable power.”
He has made it clear where he stands in support of the levy and seemingly in alignment with the NDC’s efforts to tackle Ghana’s power issues head-on, much to the surprise of some given his previous affiliations.
