Backlash Hits Camidoh After He Publicly Promotes Smoking
The Ghanaian musician Camidoh has provoked a discussion by defending smoking and implying that it’s not always bad.
He maintained that not everything that is depicted as negative is inherently bad and that the effects of smoking can be subjective.
While smoking is generally discouraged due to its harmful effects on the lungs, Camidoh brought up the fact that other hobbies, such as cooking kenkey, also involve smoke exposure.
He made the argument that opinions on the harms of smoking can differ and should be evaluated on an individual basis.
Not all depictions of negativity are true negative ones. In general, the argument against smoking is that it damages our lungs.

What about the kenkey our folks have been making? When they play kenkey, do you notice how smokey it gets? You don’t have to think about that, I simply wanted to let you know.To me, it’s not that horrible.
Health experts, on the other hand, have vehemently disagreed, demonstrating that smoking is, in fact, unhealthy.
Furthermore, smoking negatively affects eye health by raising the risk of diseases that can cause vision loss or issues, including age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, Graves’ ophthalmopathy, and optic nerve damage.
