Elderly Ghanaian Man Sparks Debate with Controversial Views on Education

An elderly Ghanaian man, affectionately known as “Grandpa,” has shared his  opinion on the state of education in Ghana. In a viral video, Grandpa asserts that pursuing education in Ghana is unwise. He believes that the country’s professors and educational experts are responsible for Ghana’s underdevelopment.

Grandpa nostalgically recalled the past, when  his peers governed the Gold Coast (now Ghana) without formal education, yet achieved global recognition. He contrasts this with the present, where, in his view, today’s educated elites have mismanaged the country, leading to its downfall.

Grandpa’s provocative statement has ignited a heated debate, with some Ghanaians agreeing with his sentiments and others strongly disagreeing.

While some share his frustration with the country’s development, others argue that education is essential for progress and that Grandpa’s views are misguided.
