Dumelo Backtracks on Claim That Alhassan Was Involved in Husband’s D@ath, Offers Apology
Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary candidate John Dumelo has apologised to the existing MP for the region, Lydia Alhassan, for continuing a false accusation that she killed her husband.
Alhassan replaced her husband, Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremanteng Agyarko, who died in 2018, and has faced accusations that she murdered her spouse to replace him.
Dumelo made these fraudulent statements on TV3, when he was heckled and charged of corruption by New Patriotic Party followers. After receiving harsh criticism online, Dumelo issued an apology via Twitter (x) .

Earlier in 2024, Alhassan was irritated by a query concerning the 2019 Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence while being interviewed for the Sanitation Ministry position.
When asked to remark on the violence, she referred to her first appearance in Parliament, when she was ridiculed and referred to as a bloodied widow by minority MPs.
