YOLO Actor Drogba Seeks Support for Medical Care Abroad, Targets $280,000 in Fundraising Efforts

Actor John Bredu Peasah, better known as Drogba in YOLO, is from Ghana. He has set up a gofundme page to raise $280,000 to pay for his medical care overseas.
Since receiving a diagnosis of demyelination in March 2024, Drogba has been treating the condition consistently.
The public and fans are being asked to support the actor, who has been slated to continue his treatment overseas.
The actor, however, stated that his “expensive treatment has depleted his resources” and that he has started the fundraising to support his treatment abroad.
“This fundraising effort is necessary to support my expensive treatment abroad, which includes specialized care from experts in pain medicine, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, biofeedback, and nursing at the Pain Rehabilitation Center,” Drogba wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 14.
He thanked the vice president, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, and his friends for their support and donations thus far.

In order to help “cover the cost of admission, medical treatment, IVIG therapy (which is particularly expensive), or plasma exchange,” the actor appealed to the public for support.
He continued, saying, “Any donation, no matter how small, will be welcomed with gratitude and will help support my medical expenses.”
He revealed last week that in addition to his ailment, he also has Sleep Apnea Syndrome and was fitted with a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) equipment to aid with his breathing as he slept.
