Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has opened up about how essential his Sarknation fans is to his high-achieving career.
The Ghanaian performer, dubbed Africa’s most decorated rapper, has followers all around the country and beyond. In a recent interview with Audiomack, Sarkodie emphasized the importance of having a fanbase like Sarknation for a rapper like himself.
In May of this year, Sarkodie released his critically praised Championship mixtape, a body of work developed and published with his followers, Sarknation, as the primary audience.

“Rappers are among the few artists who can genuinely build a community because rap requires you to say things to people. I will always encourage them to establish a following for their music so that they do not rely solely on having a global smash single to feel like they have accomplished something.”
